Notre Dame’s largest construction project was unveiled to the public and students with a pair of free events during Kicks & Flicks Week. Fans were given a sample of the highly anticipated football season during the New and Gold Game on August 20, an intra-squad scrimmage accompanied by the Notre Dame Marching Band and cheerleaders.

On August 25, the following Friday, Notre Dame students were welcomed back to campus and the stadium was open again to visitors for Flick on the Field, an open house event featuring a showing of "Rudy" on the new video board. Sitting on the turf, students from Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College downed blankets and chanted "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy" in the renovated stadium.
